FAQ

+What is today's USD to NGN rate?

The live USD to NGN rate shown above is the official interbank rate published by the Central Bank of Nigeria from the NAFEM/NFEM window. CBN updates it each business day and we republish it here shortly after release.

+Where do the naira rates come from?

Directly from the Central Bank of Nigeria's daily official exchange-rate publication for the NAFEM/NFEM window. We mirror the CBN figure exactly, with no spread applied.

+Is this the official CBN rate or the parallel (black-market) rate?

This is strictly the official Central Bank of Nigeria interbank rate. AfriRate does not publish parallel-market, street, or aboki rates, which differ from the official rate quoted here.

+How do I sign in to AfriRate?

AfriRate uses a single Statotech ID — the same account that signs you into every Statotech Systems product. Click Sign In on any page; you will be sent briefly to accounts.statotec.com to enter your password, then come straight back to your AfriRate dashboard. If you do not have a Statotech ID yet, the Sign Up button creates one in about thirty seconds.

+How do I get a free AfriRate API key?

Sign up at afrirate.statotec.com/signup — this creates a Statotech ID (one account across all our products) and lands you on the AfriRate dashboard where your API key (starts with "ar_") is waiting. The free tier covers 10 requests per minute and 300 per day with no credit card. Use the key by passing it in the Authorization header: Bearer ar_xxx....

+Who builds AfriRate?

AfriRate is a product of Statotech Systems, a fintech and data-infrastructure shop focused on Southern Africa. Your Statotech ID works across every product Statotech builds, so you only need one account.
