FAQ

+What is today's USD to EGP rate?

The live USD/EGP official rate published by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) is shown above. CBE publishes an updated official reference rate each business day.

+Where do the Egyptian pound rates come from?

Directly from the Central Bank of Egypt's daily official exchange-rate publication. We mirror the CBE reference rate and republish it here and in the AfriRate REST API.

+Is the Egyptian pound pegged to the dollar?

No. The Egyptian pound is a floating currency, so the USD/EGP rate moves with the market and CBE publishes an updated official reference rate each business day.

+How do I sign in to AfriRate?

AfriRate uses a single Statotech ID — the same account that signs you into every Statotech Systems product. Click Sign In on any page; you will be sent briefly to accounts.statotec.com to enter your password, then come straight back to your AfriRate dashboard. If you do not have a Statotech ID yet, the Sign Up button creates one in about thirty seconds.

+How do I get a free AfriRate API key?

Sign up at afrirate.statotec.com/signup — this creates a Statotech ID (one account across all our products) and lands you on the AfriRate dashboard where your API key (starts with "ar_") is waiting. The free tier covers 10 requests per minute and 300 per day with no credit card. Use the key by passing it in the Authorization header: Bearer ar_xxx....

+Who builds AfriRate?

AfriRate is a product of Statotech Systems, a fintech and data-infrastructure shop focused on Southern Africa. Your Statotech ID works across every product Statotech builds, so you only need one account.
